What is the West End Partnership?

The West End Partnership comprises a small group of committed individuals and organisations who will drive forward the strategic agenda for West End Leeds in line with the vision for the City.

This group comprises of a mix of representatives from across the Partnership, including public sector and service organisations, private sector landowners and developers, and occupiers.

The partnership provides an open forum available for all landowners, occupiers and businesses in Leeds' West End to involve themselves with the Partnership and begin to make a difference.

 

The development pipeline currently comprises of £1 billion + of development being created by four developers. Either under construction, due to start on site or with planning consent are:
 
Approximately 500 apartments
3.3 million sq.ft. of commercial office space
200,000sq.ft of leisure and retail space
High levels of public space
 

 What is the partnerships vision for the West End?

The West End Partnership’s vision is set firmly within the context of Leeds aspirations to become ‘an internationally competitive city at the heart of a prosperous region where everyone can enjoy a high quality of life’.
 
The Partnership is to be set up with the overall aim of developing a modern, exciting and vibrant new urban quarter in which businesses, residents and citizens of Leeds will want to work, live, visit, socialise and enjoy, which is distinctive but still part of the overall City composition.

What are the partnerships key objectives for the West End?

To create a distinct area by virtue of its exciting urban design, great public realm, variety and attractiveness of facilities and a safe environment.
 
To promote the area to companies, individuals, retailers and restaurateurs giving them a compelling proposition to relocate. To relate themselves with new developments. To attract new members, and also to improve the level and quality of occupancy of this distinct area.
 
To build a reputation that the West End is the five star district of the city region.
 
To create a sense of ‘community’ for all.
