Leeds is the third biggest city in England. Located in West Yorkshire, in the North, Leeds is served by Leeds Bradford International Airport, one of busiest rail stations outside of London and represents one of the principle hubs of the northern motorway network with the M1 and M62 intersecting just to its south and the A1(M) passing just to its east.
Leeds is 196 miles away from London and 220 miles from Edinburgh. The distance from other major cities include Manchester (42 miles), Newcastle (99 miles) and Birmingham (120 miles). Rail connections mean it only takes a little over 2 hours to travel from Leeds to London.
Leeds City Station provides rail connections across the UK including London, Southampton and the south, Birmingham and the Midlands, Bristol and the West Country, Newcastle, Edinburgh and the north east, Manchester and Liverpool and the north west, as well as to local and regional destinations. The station is the largest outside of London with 17 platforms.
There is a direct rail service from Leeds to Manchester Airport, with trains running throughout the night. Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield is 40 miles (65 km) south of Leeds.
Leeds has good connections by road, rail and coach to Hull, only an hour away, from where it is possible to travel to Rotterdam and Zeebrugge by ferry services run by P&O Ferries.
